Pray With Us: Holy and Blameless
“Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.” (Colossians 1:22)
Lord, I have been out in the world, and I have gotten its lies on me again. I thank you that this is not in me, just on me. You have told me in Your Word (and You never lie) that You have reconciled me to Yourself. You took on a physical body to come into this same world I have to live in, and You died so that I would not have to be separated from Your presence (suffer the real death).
From the very beginning, You have commanded Your people to be holy, to be set apart. You gave us the Law, so that by following it, we could be blameless. Yet You knew that we human beings could never be perfect or perfectly follow the Law. So You provided a perfect sacrifice, Jesus, to bring us into Your presence without fault, holy.
You see me without a single fault. How presumptuous it would be for me to see myself any other way! (Ps 19:13) Help me to discern and reject lies. This day, Father, I claim my reconciliation. I will walk in You, because You are holy and blameless.
This day–and all my days– I stand before You, holy and blameless, too.
