Week four of Community at Christmas and we are tickled to be sharing some of our dearest friends and brilliant creators, the co-founders of EtchLife! Not only do the girls at Etch appreciate a good, soft tee like the rest of us, but they have hearts that are leading women to Jesus through every single product they design. The history between Etch and Imperfectly Brave go back to our roots (just three years ago!) and we can absolutely stand behind these women. We can’t wait for you to get to know them, too!
Say hi to us! Who are you?
We are Kelsey Adams, Carrie Flener, and Terri Soper – 3 friends, moms, Jesus lovers, and co-owners of EtchLife. We started EtchLife 3 years ago together as we sought to use our gifts in design and communication to create a tangible way to more easily and beautifully blend our faith with our lives. Our name comes from Proverbs 7:3 (MSG) – “My teachings are precious…ETCH them on the chambers of your heart.” You can find us and shop our products online at www.etch.life and in our shop on the square in Liberty, Missouri.
What are you sharing with us this week? How does it connect community with the gospel?
We will be sharing practical and beautiful products with you that we have designed and currently offer for purchase on our website and in our store in Liberty! We hope that you’ll find that these products give you the opportunity to LEARN God’s word, LIVE it out daily, and to better SHARE it with others.
One of our purposes with Community at Christmas is to give women real ideas to open their lives to others without losing our minds in details and endless scrolling. How can this (what you are sharing) help?
We find that we struggle with compartmentalizing our faith…maybe you do too?! We leave God in our morning quiet time or only interact with him at church on Sundays. That’s why we’ve set out to create products that serve as reminders to help us be mindful of him more consistently. We know he desires a relationship with us, and we simply want to practice remaining with him in all the little moments throughout the day.
We love to meditate on this verse, “You keep in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3 We create products that WE need, to help us keep our minds stayed on him. We hope you find something that can help you too!
Finish this thought: We need community because…
Isolation is the opposite of community and isolation is right where the enemy wants us. In isolation, our thoughts can run wildly negative if we aren’t careful. We need to be in community to allow the Lord to shed light on the darkness. In Christ-filled community we can be affirmed, built up, encouraged, and simply receive truth!
Best Christmas memory ever. Ready, go!
Our kiddos range in age from a college graduate to a an almost 2-year-old. No matter how big or small they are we all agree that the best Christmases are the ones that involve cooking together (and eating!), crafting, and spending quality time together reflecting on the story of Jesus’ birth! It looks a little differently for each of us, but together is the best place to be.
